The Indians walked away with yet another win on Friday against West Allis Hale. They improved their record to 5-2 with the help of a great defense and a powerful rushing game. In the first quarter, #3 Cole Hernikl ran 38 yards in for a touchdown following a defensive stop near midfield. In the first half, possession changed back and forth without either offense being able to put any more points on the board. Included in this was an interception thrown by #12 Adam Vechart which was returned for 10 yards.
In the beginning of the second half Menomonee falls stopped Hale on a crucial 4th and 1. With great field position, #24 Christian Almonte ran 30 yards to put the Indians in scoring position. The Falls turned the ball over on an emotional 4th and goal on the 1 yard line. The defense avenged the offenses short coming by forcing Hale to punt out of their own endzone. After a nearly blocked kick and a downed ball, Menomonee Falls set out to correct the mistake they had previously made. Again, #3 Cole Hernikl ran the ball into the endzone on a 20 yard rush.
To start off the second half our Indians held Hale on 4th down with a sack. Mo' Falls marched down to take a field goal attempt from about the 25. This attempt missed but after a few possession changes the Indians found themselves in the end zone again. For one last time it was #3 Cole Hernikl scoring. Hale struck back with a late passing touchdown, but failed to recover an onside kick. As #12 Adam Vechart took a knee to wind down the last seconds of the game, Falls fans rejoiced. At long last they had gotten the playoff caliber Football team they'd been missing for a few years now.
